Congratulations to Professor Jean Boase-Beier

The outstanding contribution that Jean Boase-Beier, Arc's Translation Editor, has made to the field of literary translation world-wide has been recognized by the University of East Anglia where she has just been awarded a personal Chair in the School of Literature and Creative Writing.
Jean was the instigator of Arc Visible Poets, arguably one of Arc's flagship series, the first three titles of which (Bartolo Cattafi's Anthracite, Miklos Radnoti's Camp Notebook and Michael Strunge's A Virgin from a Chilly Decade) were published some eight years ago. With the publication of the twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth titles in the series now imminent and with a new 'Classic' translations series about to be launched - watch this website! - Arc has a great deal to thank its Translation Editor for, and looks forward to working with her on many more ground-breaking projects.
