The Book of the Snow shortlisted for the Griffin Prize

Posted 14th May 2011

For the second year running, a title from Arc's flagship 'Visible Poets' translation series has been shortlisted for the prestigious Griffin Poetry Prize (international category) – the only title in the short-list of four from a British publisher, and the very first time that a title in translation from the same publisher has been nominated in successive years. The book in question is The Book of the Snow (1990) by the seminal Belgian poet François Jacqmin (1929-1992), translated by Philip Mosley. The winner of the prize will be announced in Toronto on 1 June 2011 and Rachael Ogden, Managing Director of Inpress Books, will be representing Arc at the prize-giving ceremony, since both Tony Ward and Angela Jarman will be away at conferences (of which more later...)
