Paxton's Beacon

Paxton's Beacon

by Allen Fisher

Allen Fisher writes: This book is comprised of extracts from The Art of Flight: I-XXVII: A Selection for Eric Motram and Jackson Mac Low. The Art of Flight is Allen Fisher's formal treatise on the usage in ideas and in language of the terms light and dark, where flight is fugue, folly and fancy.

The work was composed between November 1974 and July 1975.

Limited edition of 250 copies of which 15 are numbered and signed by the author. Published by Arc Publications, Todmorden and printed by Tony Ward at the Arvon Press, Hebden Bridge. 20.5 x 29.3 cms. Yellow card cover with red lettering and attached diagram by way of cover image. Irregular pagination throughout. A striking feature of this book is that the text is printed on different colour leaves throughout the volume, and that, on certain pages, the printed text varies from one colour to another (to great effect).
