Born in South Wales, Beth Edge has lived in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire since 1966. In these poems, she proves she is 'no stranger' to the county of her adoption, confronting the harshness of the industrial landscape at the same time as giving expression to romantic feeling in the face of nature.
