with an Afterword 'My Comus, Milton’s Comus' by John Kinsella
Part of our Arc International Poets series
Four hundred years after the birth of one of England's greatest poets, John Milton, the outstanding Australian poet John Kinsella has written a contemporary version of Comus, the mask that was commissioned by John, Earl of Bridgwater and performed for him at Ludlow Castle in 1634.
This volume presents both Kinsella's new 'Dialogic Mask' and Milton's seminal original (taken from the published edition of 1645) with additional comment by John Kinsella and an illuminating introductory essay by Dr. Tim Cribb of the Cambridge University Marlowe Society. We understand that this is the only version of Milton's Comus (original 1645 version) as a single work currently in print in the UK.
