I have been reading three new books worth buying for oneself or a friend this Christmas: ...and Blood / Sugar by James Byrne (Arc). ...Byrne is one of the key figures in the London scene, as editor and young poet - now also based in New York. This is his second collection, and, as John Kinsella says, here is a unique mytho-poetic. No one else thinks or writes like Byrne, and how he blends international and British traditions together is fascinating.
