Born in Tehran of Armenian parents, Arminé Tamrazian was educated in three languages (Armenian, Farsi and English). After receiving her BA degree in English in Tehran, she went on to study Linguistics at University College, London University, where she completed her MA and PhD degrees. She has published three volumes of literary translations and worked as lecturer at Yerevan State University and Yerevan State 'Brusov' University for Linguistic Studies. She has also carried out research as a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto.

Classical music is also an important part of her life. She has studied the piano from a very young age and given many performances as an amateur pianist. Having sung in a children's and youth choir from the age of five, during her student years in London she became a member of the Royal Choral Society and sang in the choir for four years until she moved to Yerevan, Armenia, where she currently lives with her family.
