Carol Watts was born in the Midlands in 1962. At 11 she came to London to meet Stephen Spender, who awarded her a prize in the 3M National Poetry Competition. She stopped writing in her early 20s, returning to poetry two decades later. Her work includes Wrack (2007), Occasionals (2011), Mother Blake (2012), Sundog (2013) and Many Weathers Wildly Comes (2015). A series of pamphlets When Blue Light Falls is due shortly in a single volume. A professor of literature and poetics, she often performs and works collaboratively across media, and in the form of artists' books.
