David Colmer Amsterdam

David Colmer is an Australian writer and translator living in Amsterdam. He translates novels, poetry and children's literature, mostly from Dutch, and has won many prizes, including the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize (both with novelist Gerbrand Bakker) and Australian and Dutch awards for his body of work. His poetry translations include books by Annie M. G. Schmidt, Cees Nooteboom, Hugo Claus (shortlisted for the PEN Poetry Translation Prize) and Ramsey Nasr (shortlisted for the Popescu Prize for European Poetry in Translation).
