John Manduell
JOHN MANDUELL was born in Johannesburg in 1928, studied in Strasbourg, at Jesus College, Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music.
He is the recipient of a CBE (1982), a Knighthood (1989) and the Chevalier de L’ordre des Arts et des Lettres (1990).
He has received Honorary Doctorates from Lancaster University, Manchester University and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, and Fellowships from the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Royal Northern
College of Music, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Manchester Polytechnic and Trinity College of Music.
As a composer, John Manduell’s compositions are principally in the fields of chamber and orchestral music.
