Karl Marx Germany

Karl Marx was born in 1818 in Trier in the Rhineland, Germany, but spent most of his life as a stateless exile in Paris, Brussels and London, where he died in 1883. A philosopher, critic of political economy, economist, historian, sociologist, political theorist, journalist and socialist revolutionary, Marx’s political and philosophical thought as expounded in his publications The Communist Manifesto (1848) and the 3-volume Das Kapital (1867-1883), had a profound influence on subsequent intellectual, economic and political history.
