KIM SEUNG-HEE is a celebrated Korean poet who has ten volumes of poetry, two novels and four volumes of academic prose to her name and who has received a number of major literary awards for her work. Athough she is regarded as a feminist poet, she also writes about civilization in general, and political and social issues; depression is a major topic in her poems.

Formerly a professor of Korean Literature at Sogang University, Seoul, she is now retired and is an emeritus professor in the university’s Korean Department.
