Marco Sonzogni Italy
Marco Sonzogni was born in Mortara (Italy) in 1971. He holds degrees from the University of Pavia, Almo Collegio Borromeo; the National University of Ireland, Dublin; the University of Dublin, Trinity College; and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where he is a Lecturer in the School of Languages and Cultures (Italian Programme) and a member of the New Zealand Centre for Literary Translation. He is a widely published critic, editor, reviewer and literary translator. His first collection of poems and translations, Assenze, was published in 2005; his second book, Chiaroscuro, will appear in 2009. A recipient of research grants and awards, he is currently working on James Joyce, Katherine Mansfield, Alda Merini and Eugenio Montale. He lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
