Marian de Vooght

Marian de Vooght is the editor (with Jean Boase-Beier) of Poetry of the Holocaust: An Anthology (2019). She is an academic and literary translator. Her poetry translations from Dutch include Maurice Gilliams' complete poems, The Bottle at Sea (2006, Green Integer) and Guus Luijters' Song of Stars (2018, Smokestack), which received a PEN award. She is a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. Her research focuses on political aspects of literature and canonization. She is also a Dutch teacher and has published on language learning and raising bilingual children. Marian de Vooght has previously worked at the universities of East Anglia, Konstanz and Trondheim. She has a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in Dutch Language and Literature from the University of Nijmegen.
