Saskia Hamilton was born in Washington, D.C. in 1967, and educated at Kenyon College and New York University. She is the author of As for Dream (2001) and Divide These (2005), and the editor of The Letters of Robert Lowell (Faber, 2005). She teaches at Barnard College and lives in New York City.
