Semyon Khanin is an artist and poet writing in Russian, a translator of Latvian poetry into Russian, editor of numerous poetry collections of Russian and Latvian poets. He is the compiler of the anthology Latvian / Russian Poetry. Poems in Russian written by Latvian Poets. Books of Khanin’s poems have been published in Latvian, Czech, Ukrainian, Serbian, and Italian. His poems in English translation have been published in Poetry Wales, Brooklin Rail and Artful Dodge. He is an author of Just Now (2003), Missed Details (2008) and Afloat (2013). His selected poems were published in 2017 under the title But Not With That. Khanin also makes his own performances and installations (single-face theatre, three-dimensional poetry etc.).
