50 years at the cutting edge of poetry publishing

“A meeting point for poets of all latitudes”
— VĂctor Rodríguez Núñez

Tariq Latif Pakistan

Tariq Latif was raised on a farm in the Punjab till the age of eight when his family moved
to Manchester. After graduating with a degree in Physics from Sheffield University he became an entrepreneur and opened a fashion shop in the unfashionable town of Sale. Three years later the business went under. The only good thing to come out of those fruitless days was his love for poetry.

Tariq has been writing poetry now for over thirty years. His three books to date are all
published by Arc, the most recent being The Punjabi Weddings (2007). His work has appeared in many magazines and has been featured on BBC 2 television and BBC radio 4.

He now lives in Dunoon and appears on local radio and at the independent bookshop reading
his recent poetry. He writes about the beautiful landscape of Argyll and how it relates to his faith and the human condition.
