[Chinook Clarinet Quartet]

The Chichele String Quartet is made up of students at the Royal Northern College of Music, all of whom participate in the chamber music class.

As a quartet, they have taken part in numerous masterclasses and coaching session with distinguished artists such as Hugh Maguire, Christopher Rowland, Andrew Watkinson and the Sorrel Quartet. In January this year, they performed at the BeethovenFest at the RNCM, and in March were invited to participate in a weekend of study with the Allegri String Quartet. They recently reached the finals of the prestigious Royal Overseas League competition and were also highly commended in the RNCM Hirsch Prize.

Tonight's concert is one of a number they are undertaking this summer throughout the UK.

Katie Stillman won the Grand Prize of the Canadian Music Competitions before receiving an international scholarship from the Associated Boards for her studies at the RNCM. She is currently in her second year on the joint course with Manchester University, and studies with Wen Zhou Li.

Helena Roques, a graduate of Wells Cathedral School, is also in her second year and is continuing her studies with Richard Ireland.

Andrew Berridge completed a BA Hons. degree in music before undertaking a post-graduate course at the RNCM where he is studying with Scott Dickinson.

Vanessa Lucas-Smith was a member of the RNCM Junior School before embarking on four years of full-time study at the RNCM. Her current teacher is Eduardo Vassallo.
