Grace Huang, at the age of 23, has performed extensively in the UK, as well as in France, Germany, Taiwan and her native Canada. She has performed for festivals and music societies throughout England, including the Douglas Music Society, Ribble Valley International Piano Week, and music festivals in Peterborough, Hebden Bridge and Haverhill, played with the City of York Guildhall, Windsor and Maidenhead, RNCM and Derby Orchestras, and has also appeared as a guest soloist in the Hallé Orchestra Season Preview Concert in the Bridgewater Hall in September. She has given several performances on London's South Bank with saxophonist Sarah James, with whom she shares many successes. Forthcoming appearances include a concerto appearance with the Hallé Orchestra, and concerts in the Bridgewater Hall for the Midday Concerts Society and the Piano 2003 Festival.
Grace began piano lessons at the age of three, studied for ten years at the Vancouver Academy of Music with Lorraine Ambrose (during which time she was a frequent prizewinner at both local and national competitions, including the 1st Pacific Piano Competition) and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music with Martin Roscoe, supported by an International Scholarship from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She is currently a postgraduate scholar at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she receives generous support from both the RNCM and the Musicians Benevolent Fund. Grace has worked with many distinguished professors, including Klaus Hellwig, Jon Kimura Parker and Stephen Hough. She is continuing her studies with Martin Roscoe and Benjamin Frith.
