Jue Huang began to study the piano at the age of seven. In 1997, having studied at the Junior School of Nanjing Art College in China, winning both local and national competitions, she enrolled at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and gained the Bachelor of Music Degree in 2001. Whilst at the Conservatory she was awarded the prestigious People’s Prize three times and in 2001 was conferred the title 'Outstanding Graduate' by the Education Department of China.
In September 2001 a scholarship brought her to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she is now studying with Professor Ronan O'Hora on the Postgraduate Performance course.
A passionate chamber musician Jue has given numerous concerts throughout the UK and in China. As a soloist she has performed at many venues including Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Fairfield Hall, Linbury Studio Theatre and she has been recorded for the BBC World Service.
Recent successes include second prize at the Robert William & Florence Amy Brant International Piano Competition in July 2004, second prize at the Croydon Symphony Orchestra Soloist Award in July 2003 and an award from the Myra Hess Trust.
