With a programme of traditional - and new - airs, dances and ballads from the Scots and Gaelic traditions, drawn from communities the world over and played on a wide variety of instruments.

Tonight's performers are all on the BA (Scottish Music) course, a course unique to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama which attracts students from all over Scotland and beyond. These young musicians are already recognised as experts on their instruments in their home regions, and tonight's programme gives full reign both to individual brilliance and to ensemble playing of the highest quality. The musicians will introduce each item in the programme during the course of the evening.
