YMF Showcase, 2005
Christopher Wright began playing the cello at the age of five. In 1997, having studied with Alexander Baillie and Melissa Phelps, he began studying privately with Oleg Kogan, and in 1999 was awarded a Diploma of Associateship, with Honours, from the Royal College of Music.
In 2000 Christopher enrolled on the post-graduate Advanced Instrumental Studies course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, where, studying with Louise Hopkins, he gained his Master of Music Degree in 2001. Christopher is currently a fellow at the GSMD and a chamber music coach for Junior Guildhall.
An active recitalist and enthusiastic chamber musician, Christopher has performed at many venues throughout the UK including the Wigmore Hall, Barbican Centre, LSO St. Luke’s, Royal Opera House Crush Room, Steinway Hall, and St. Martin in the Fields.
Christopher is very grateful for the generous support he has received from the James Marshall Foundation and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
