Royal Northern College of Music

Two of the RNCM’s leading sopranos, with their prize-winning accompanist, present a fascinating porgramme which follows the development of the German Lied from Schubert, to Mahler and Berg, and which also includes a 1937 song-cycle by Britten, one of the few British composers of that time familiar with the works of Mahler and Berg.
