[Tavec Quartet]

The Tavec Quartet

The Festival opens with a concert by the Tavec Quartet, first heard at the 8th Young Musicians' Festival in 2001. Their extraordinary performance of Britten's Second Quartet on that occasion inspired composer Anthony Gilbert to write a new string quartet for them, which they play tonight. (This concert is given in association with the Halifax Philharmonic Club.)
