D. M. Thomas and Sylvia Kantaris
News from the Front
"This is a collaborative work concerning a fictional encounter between a businessman and a Portuguese girl on holiday in London. It originated with a poem by Sylvia Kantaris based on a suggestion by D M Thomas and from that foundation, we each proceeded to explore their relationship in our own way, sending poems and drafts to one another as they were written. Each of us wrote sometimes from the point of view of the male character, sometimes of the female."

Blocks
The editor Richard Cadell writes: The [10] pictures in this volume are selected by Roger Tomlin from [wood] blocks in his own collection. He lays no claim to their authorship, but should certainly take the credit for caring for them, and saving them from the scrap heap. Divorced from the contexts in which they first appeared, the blocks are free to assume identities of their own. Ten authors have made their suggestions...
